WM recycling centers use advanced technology to sort recyclables so they can be made into new products. Our centers separate recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, cans and plastic bottles.
Enterprise-wide, WM plans to invest over $1 billion in recycling infrastructure through 2026, including automating existing facilities and developing new facilities. In Washington and Oregon, WM operates four recycling centers using state-of-the-art equipment to achieve the highest quality standards in the industry. This ensures materials leaving our facilities will be recycled into new products or repurposed in meaningful ways, to reduce GHG emissions connected to the use of virgin materials.
