Holiday Collection - City of Portland Garbage and recycling are collected on all holidays except Christmas and New Year's Day. For all other holidays, collection is on your regular service day. When Christmas or New Year's Day fall on a weekday, collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week. For example, if Christmas falls on Thursday, Thursday customers will receive service on Friday, and Friday customers will receive service on Saturday. Print This Page
