What is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)?
Anything labeled as toxic, flammable, corrosive, reactive, infectious, or radioactive can
threaten personal health and safety and is therefore considered hazardous household
waste.
Common hazardous wastes found in the home include: paints in liquid form, paint thinner and
stripper, weed killer, pesticides and herbicides, brake fluid, gasoline and diesel fuel,
antifreeze and solvents.
These items may not be put in your garbage or recycling cart, container or drop box. These
items are not accepted at the Newberg Transfer Site or at any of our recycling
depots.
What can I do with my leftover paint?
Liquid paint is not accepted in garbage or recycling carts, containers, or drop
boxes.
