Please have your recycling roll cart & bin curbside by 6 am on your service day.

Place the following items together in your mixed recycling container
Paper
- Newspaper
- Cardboard (flatend)
- Magazines and junk mail
- Paper bags
- Milk, juice and soup cartons (rinsed)
- Shredded Paper (in a paper bag)
Plastic
- Bottles, round plastic containers, jugs and jars
- Nursery pots (larger than four inches)
- Buckets (five gallons or less)
- Empty and rinse
- Six ounces or larger in size
- Ignore numbers on containers;
they indicate plastic resin type, not
recyclability
No caps or lids
Metal
- Aluminum, tin and steel food cans
- Metal paint cans
- Aerosol cans and aluminum foil
- Scrap metal (smaller than 30 inches and less
than 30 pounds)
- Empty and rinse
- Do not flatten cans
- Can tops are OK if crimped inside can

Glass
- Empty and rinse
- Remove lids
- All colors together
Place non-container glass items
in a garbage container, such as:
- Dishware, cookware or Pyrex
- Broken glass
- Windows and mirrors
- Light bulbs
Batteries
Include alkaline, button cell and rechargeable batteries. Tape ends of all batteries, except alkaline. Put in a one-quart zip-sealed bag and place on top of glass bin.

Recycle+ is now available to residents residing in the City of Beaverton!
In addition to current curbside recycling, you will be able to participate in Recycle+:
1. Plastic film/bags
- Produce bags
- Plastic bags
- Dry cleaning bags
- Plastic padded envelopes (no padded manila envelopes)
- Plastic overwrap for paper towels, paper plates, napkins, etc.
2. Clear plastic #1 clamshell containers
- Fruit containers
- Bakery containers
- Take-out containers
3. Textiles
- Clothing
- Bed linens
- Towels/rags
4. Compact fluorescent light bulbs
- Compact fluorescent bulbs must be contained in a zip-sealed bag prior to placing in your WM provided bag. This protects workers from mercury exposure should bulbs get broken during handling.
- Long fluorescent tubes used in commercial lighting are not accepted
5. Special Collection: December 2024 - January 2025: LED string lights.
- Include LED string lights, string lights with small bulbs, string lights without bulbs.
- To prepare string lights for collection: Remove novelty or large bulbs often identified as C6, C7 or C9. These are commonly found on older or outdoor lights. Put bulbs in the garbage or save as replacement bulbs for other string lights.
- Do not include rope lights, novelty lights if you cannot remove the novelty bulbs, inflatable yard figures, or other holiday décor.

How to participate
- Subscribe to Recycle+
- WM will deliver a lidded 18 gallon purple bin and four clear plastic bags on your upcoming comingle service day.
- Put acceptable materials in the plastic bags provided by WM, and place them in your lidded 18-gallon purple bin. Note: Each material must be in its own plastic bag, please do not place different materials in the same bag
- Schedule an on-call pick-up with WM. Note: Customers must schedule their pick-up at least two days in advance.
- Place lidded 18 gallon purple bin out to be serviced on your scheduled day.
- WM will collect the bagged materials and replace the clear plastic bags for future collection.
Rates
Recycle+ charges include a monthly base charge of $2.50 per month, and a pick-up charge every time it is emptied.
