Collection Schedule
Organic waste is collected weekly year round.
Yard Waste and Food Scraps are Accepted in the Organics Cart
Place the following items together in your organics container:
- Food scraps including meat, dairy, bones, fruits and vegetables
- Food soiled paper including coffee filters and napkins
- Plants, flowers and yard trimmings
Collect kitchen food scraps in your kitchen in a container that works best for you:
- Colander or strainer
- Paper grocery bag
- Reusable plastic, metal, or ceramic container with a lid
Extra Organics
There is a charge for additional units of organics beyond the basic service (except double holiday loads).
For yard trimmings that don't fit in your yard cart you may use:
Paper yard bags (available at home and garden stores), or
32-gal. cans with handles & lids (65 lb. limit) labeled "Yard" or
Bundles tied with sisal twine (4'x2' limit)
* Yard trimmings are not accepted in plastic bags.
Plastic bags are not compostable and cause processing and odor problems at the composting facility.
