Regional Public Information Network

King County Flood Preparedness

Waste Management is committed to providing reliable collection for all customers. We are also committed to the safety of our drivers and customers.

Weather conditions may delay collection times. Please leave containers out until 5 PM. If service is postponed, we post updates here, and call customers as needed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we manage weather-related service challenges.

If your area is not listed below, and your garbage or recycling has not been collected by 5 PM, please report the missed collection here.

No Service Delays Reported At This Time

Remove Snow
Accumulation.

To keep containers accessible, please remove snow and extra material from around or on top of them. If your street is snowy or icy, please move your container to a more accessible location to avoid postponed collection.

Clear Storm Drains
to Prevent Street Flooding:

As snow melts, water run-off can result in flooding, which further impedes collection. Please clear storm drains of snow and debris to prevent flooding.

Weather-Delayed Curbside Collection
Standard Procedures:

Twice Regular Amount Accepted Next Regular Collection Day* in Most WM Service Areas

If weather conditions prevent collection of garbage or recycling, please remove the containers from the street.

  • No credit is given for postponed collection due to weather conditions, but up to twice the regular amount is accepted at no extra charge.
* Every Other Week Recycling & Yard Waste Collected Two (2) weeks after Missed Collection: If recycling or yard waste is regularly collected every other week, the uncollected material will be collected on the next regular collection day for that container (two weeks from the missed collection), unless residents are otherwise notified by telephone or on this site.

Commercial and Multi-family Weather-Delayed Collection: Service as soon as conditions allow. Priority service to locations such as hospitals and restaurants, where public health is a high priority.
