Recycle Food - It’s Easy To Do.

Households in the City of Auburn can recycle your leftover food scraps and food-soiled paper in your yard cart. Yes, that includes droopy lettuce, meats, bones, moldy cheese, dairy products and pizza boxes.

Food scraps and soiled paper made up nearly 39% of King County single-family household waste in 2006. Instead of sending this waste to the landfill, it can be recycled and turned into environmentally–friendly compost. Compost is a natural organic material that is most commonly used to feed the soil in gardens and lawns. (Source: King Co. Waste Characterization 2006 Data)
